These charts include verb conjugations in German, Dutch, and Afrikaans, with columns that can be re-arranged to change the order of the languages as well as the option to hide/show languages. Verb forms include present, present perfect, past, past perfect, future, future perfect, conditional, conditional perfect, subjunctive (German only), imperative, present participle, and past participle.

If you have any corrections or additions (including other West Germanic languages), please e-mail me at ielanguages [at] gmail [dot] com. If you are looking for comparative vocabulary lists for these Germanic languages, please go to Germanic Vocabulary. Comparative lists are also available for Romance Languages, for both vocabulary and verb conjugations, as well as for Scandinavian Vocabulary.

Choose a conjugation below:

  1. Regular Verbs
  2. Be: sein / zijn / wees
  3. Have: haben / hebben / hê
  4. Do: tun / doen / doen
  5. Go: gehen / gaan / gaan
  6. Come: kommen / kommen / kom
  7. Become: werden / worden / word

You may also want to revise the Personal Pronouns. Conjugations are given in the six forms: 1st person singular, 2nd person singular, 3rd person singular, 1st person plural, 2nd person plural, and 3rd person plural. The verb forms following the ellipsis ... in all three languages are placed at the end of the sentence.

Note that verbs are not conjugated for person or number and that the present perfect, past, and past perfect forms are all the same in Afrikaans. Also note that het is used in place of the infinitive in the future perfect and conditional perfect, unlike German and Dutch where the infinitive is used.
