Mamie continues to talk about life in Annecy during WWII, and never meeting her family members that were left behind in Italy.
For students who want to learn real spoken language.
David interviewed 78 year-old Mamie recently about living in Annecy during World War II. In this first part, she talks about why her family left Italy before the war and how hard life was for her parents and 6 brothers and sisters. The fourth of seven children, Mamie was the first one born in France, but as her parents decided to not speak Italian anymore once they had settled in France, she and the rest of the children only speak French. Mamie still has not been to Bassano del Grappa where her parents are from, but we are taking her there this July.
